Prep at ROV’s

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how much care goes into every jar of honey we prepare. At ROV, each step feels like more than just a task. It feels like part of a quiet rhythm we’ve grown to love. This work asks for patience and attention, and in return, it gives something real. Something we’re proud to share.

We choose our materials with intention. The glass jars we use help preserve the honey’s delicate nature. When sealed properly, they keep it as close as possible to the way it tasted at the farm. Each time a new harvest comes in, we take our time. Straining it gently, weighing it carefully, and pouring it one jar at a time.

Our honey isn’t filtered the way commercial ones often are. It still carries tiny reminders of the hive—traces of pollen, wax, and propolis that the bees leave behind. We strain each batch by hand, slowly and with care, just enough to create a clean texture without stripping away the character. Sometimes you might see a few particles left behind. They’re completely safe and a sign that the honey is real. Untouched in many ways. Alive with the land it came from.

After straining, we measure and pour each jar by hand. It’s a quiet process, and one I’ve come to appreciate more and more. Nothing is rushed. Once sealed, the jars are ready for their journey. From the farm to our hands, then finally to yours.

It’s never just about filling a jar. It’s about holding on to the intention behind it. A small offering from the land, passed along with care.
